Sven Gone-li (vancouver canucks)

The hits keep on a comin' to the Vancouver Canucks.

On Monday morning, Canucks head coach Travis Green announced winger Sven Baertschi will miss the next 6-8 weeks with a broken jaw.

Baertchi has scored 8 goals and 10 assists in 30 games played this season.

This major loss comes days after the Canucks announced their number one center Bo Horvat will be lost to the team for the next 4-6 weeks with a fractured foot.

Baertschi, 25, has scored 51 goals and 60 assists in 236 career NHL games.

Baertsch is a scoring left winger who is on pace to crush his career highs for points (35) which he accompished last season with 18 goals and 17 assists.

The Canucks are in deep trouble right now. Green and GM Jim Benning have to find a solution to the combined 18 goals and 20 assists that Baertschi and Horvat provided before their serious injuries. Where will Benning find two top six scoring forwards to replace Baertschi and Horvat as they recover from their serious injuries?

One team that Benning has had conversations with over the years is the Buffalo Sabres. Center-winger and Vancouver native Samson Reinhart can be had if the price is right. Same for Evander Kane. Reinhart is a pending RFA while Kane is a pending UFA. Benning would have to make a multiple piece deal with Jason Botterill to secure one or the other of Reinhart or Kane.

What price is "right" for Botterill to trade one of his top six forwards to the Canucks?

A top pair D. A first and a second round pick.

The Canucks enter Monday night's slate of games with 32 points, good for 11th place in the wild Western Conference standings. The Canucks are 5-4-1 in their last two games.
