While Suzuki made the team, Hurricanes prospects Seth Jarvis and Jamieson Rees were both cut from the team. Jarvis was selected 13th overall by the Hurricanes in this year’s NHL Draft, while Rees was selected 44th overall by the Hurricanes in last year's draft. Jarvis will still be eligible to represent Canada in next year’s tournament, however, this was the final year of eligibility for Rees.
