The last 2 nights have been very good to us! I posted my picks in the comment section for yesterday as I mentioned in the blog. I'm finally back to updating every system in my blog today too. Favs have gone 22-4 the last 3 nights and the 1st-period totals going over were 7-2 yesterday, 14-6 the last 3 days. We had a lot of scoring yesterday, with the totals going 6-1-1, the one push was from the Sens/Leafs game as Ottawa couldn't score us a goal in the 6-0 loss to Toronto. Two out of three teams that were playing 3 in 4 nights on the road lost too. Home teams were 6-3 last night and 17-8 the last 3 nights. I really like today's card, analysis is below. TB/NYR - 12:30pm EST - NYR won in TB the other night and the Lightning have been playing a tough schedule since returning having a home, then road game only to repeat it again. It's their 4th game in 6 nights as well. Strong lean to NYR and the over 6 too.
SJ/PITT - 1pm EST - The Pens are playing their first game since the break! They had won 7 in a row prior to the break. I really like the over here with Pitt playing their first game in over 2 weeks, plus the Sharks have already played 2 games and are a solid team. Lean to SJ and the over.
BOS/DET - 1pm EST - The Wings sat rested yesterday while Boston finally played their first game since the break. Lean to Detroit +120 as a small dog at home.
NJ/WASH - 3pm EST - Both teams have won their 2 games since returning from the break. Lean to the over 6 as the Caps -235 seems far too steep in this spot. Caps off until Friday of this week after this game.
ANA/COL - 3pm EST - The Avs haven't played in 17 days! This will be their first game since the break while Anaheim has two games under their belt, both losses 2-1 and 3-1. The Avs have 12 players on the injury list or in covid protocol. No way in the world should Colorado be a -243 fav! The Ducks are +202, small lean to Anaheim and strong lean to the over 6.
WINN/VEGAS - 4pm EST - This will be the Jet's first game since the break while Vegas has won their 2 games since the break, without Stone, Patches, and Lehner! Small lean to Vegas -167 as the Jets aren't good on the road, plus small lean to the over 6.
CAL/CHI - 7pm EST - Hawks are without their top 2 goalies and played today in Nashville while Calgary sat and rested. Strong lean to Calgary -145 and the over 5.5!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Survivor Hockey Pool is basically the same idea as Survivor Football pools, except picking consistent winners in hockey is a little tougher than it is in football. Our Survivor Hockey pool is all based on the weekend (Sat-Sun) schedule, so you could potentially pick a team against different opponents if they play both days.
How to Play
Entrants pick two teams each weekend of the NHL regular season with the intention of the selection winning. A shootout or OT win, count as your team winning. If the team's selected wins, the entry survives to the following week. If one of the teams selected loses, the entry is eliminated from the pool. If you fail to post your picks before the weekly deadline, your team is eliminated. If all remaining teams lose during a week, they all move on to the next week. The final surviving entry is the winner unless there are multiple teams alive after the final week of the season. Teams may only be selected one time for the duration of the pool. You can't pick a team a second time after you have used that desired team's selection once. If you pick a team in which the game is postponed due to covid, the selection will be canceled, you won't be graded a win or a loss and you will have to pick an additional play the following weekend. We will post a new blog every Friday in which you will post your 2 weekly picks. The picks can't be edited as the system shuts them down and we will take pics of each weekly entry so nobody is trying to cheat. This way everyone can see your picks each week. The deadline for your weekly entry will be at Noon EST every Saturday. The first week's deadline is Saturday, Jan. 1st at Noon EST.
Cost - $100 per entry is payable by Paypal or if you live in Canada, E-transfer is accepted, which is also the quickest way to gain entry. If you choose Paypal allow a few days for the payment to go through so please keep this in mind when registering that we need to receive it before the deadline for week 1 picks need to be posted. The maximum number of entries by any e-mail address or user at hockeybuzz is 3! Once we have your money you will be notified and activated into the contest. Please IM here at hockeybuzz and I will give you the email address for Paypal or the E-transfer. We will release how many entries we have after the deadline so each entrant is aware of the payout at the end of the contest.
