While the annual Blue vs. White game was supposed to be the big story on the final day of Toronto Maple Leafs Development Camp, the club received quite a scare in the third period of Team White’s 4-1 win over Team Blue, as 2020 second-round pick Roni Hirvonen was rocked by a hit from camp invite defenseman Nolan Dillingham.

Leafs Assistant GM Hayley Wickenheiser indicated that Hirvonen suffered a concussion, but skated off the ice and was seen walking around after the game.

The Toronto Marlies continue to replenish their roster, announcing the signing of forward Josiah Slavin to a one-year AHL contract on Sunday.
The younger brother of Carolina defenseman Jaccob, Slavin split this past season between the Rockford IceHogs and the San Diego Gulls and played 15 NHL games for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2021-22.

Former Leaf Andreas Johnsson found a new home after being included as a salary dump in the Timo Meier deal last February. The 28-year-old winger signed a one-year, $800,000 deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Johnsson was the leading scorer for Kyle Dubas Calder Cup-winning Toronto Marlies squad in 2018 and one year into his four-year, $13.6 million deal was traded to New Jersey for winger Joey Anderson. *******
