I can't believe he left it lying around, but I have found Stan Bowman's Christmas list. Very irresponsible of him, but guess there is nothing left to do but publish here for all to read.
After a couple years of 1st round exits in the playoffs, it appears he's really hoping he gets a few things off this list to take the Hawks back to the promise-land, or at the very least, make him look good to Rocky.
Hope you've been a good boy this year Stanley.
"Dear Santa,
Here is a list of all the things I would like this year. As you know, I am the Vice President and General Manager of the Chicago Blackhawks team and I really need you to come through for me this year as my job may depend on it.
Here it goes:
* More Alex DeBrincat magic – it would be great if you can give me more magic dust to pass on to little Alex so he can continue his hot start to his NHL career. He's really making me look like a genius so far.
* A healthy Corey Crawford (until July 2018 at least) – that'd be swell, Santa, as he's single-handedly keeping us in every game. * A vintage 2016 Richard Panik replication – he's really making me look silly with that contract I gave him in the summer.
* A top 4 defenceman – this one is an important one! If you don't have one ready now, I would take on around March.
* 4x Top-of-the-line mattresses – forgive me in advance, but I will be regifting these. They are for my main guys: Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. They've looked really tired at times this year and I want to make sure they get their rest. Everyone knows we'll really need them come Playoffs.
Oh, that reminds me, speaking of playoffs, anything you can do there? No pressure, I just don't want to have to find a scapegoat if we don't make it. Joel scares me, so maybe another assistant coach?
Hopefully, you can help out because I swear I've been good this year. I have proof; I gave Richard Panik 5.6 million dollars, brought Columbus orphan, Brandon Saad home to his Chicago family and gave this poor fella, Lance Bouma another chance to play in the NHL.
You can drop off any and all gifts to my office at the United Center.
Merry Christmas,
Stanley Glenn Bowman
Ps… can you also send a new phone to my Dad? He recently said that I'm really "wearing" out his number. Thanks"
Well, there you go! What are your thoughts on Stan's list? Anything you wish he added?
See ya out there, JL
Ps… no baby yet.
