According to the most recent episode (e. 461) of the Spittin Chicklets Podcast, an active NHL player told the gentlemen the following:
Have you heard what Babcock is up to, again?He got to Columbus, and one of the first things he does is calls in Boone Jenner, and asks for his phone.
The conversation continues with questions as to what could have been on the players phones that coach wants to know.
Both Babcock and Jenner have spoken through the the Blue Jackets’ public relations market, defending the new bench boss’s actions.
Former Blue Jackets’ player Mike Commodore has defended the podcast saying the statements are true and the source was leaked with the full context of the information, and was left anonymous.
This leaves the concern that a he has not changed or b the media is spinning it. Babcock has been in the hot seat since his hiring, and with this coming out before a game has even occurred is not helping matters.
