The Toronto Maple Leafs provided more information on how season and non-season ticket holders would be handled in the wake of the province of Ontario reducing the capacity of Scotiabank Arena by 50% due to the uptick of COVID cases due to the new Omicron variant.
“Our Membership base will be divided into two groups to ensure equitable access to games. You will receive tickets in an “every other…game cadence starting this weekend through Wednesday, January 26.… MLSE VP of ticket sales Tom McDonald said in an e-mail to their season ticket holders, who constitute 85% of the attendance at SBA. “You will receive your regular seat location and allotment for applicable games.
An update regarding the anticipated duration of these measures and the impact on games going forward will be sent on Thursday, December 23 as we work to ensure a smooth transition.…
The time frame from December 23 to January 26 impacts eight Leafs home games:
Thu. Dec 23 vs. St. Louis Wed. Dec 29 vs Pittsburgh Sat. Jan 1 vs Ottawa Mon. Jan 3 vs. Carolina Wed. Jan 5 vs. Edmonton Mon. Jan 17 vs. New Jersey Sat. Jan 22 vs. NY Islanders Wed. Jan 26 vs. Anaheim
Non-season ticket holders will be refunded for those games by MLSE or reportedly by brokers like StubHub if tickets were purchased through third party providers.

The Leafs had time to get in some practices with the game vs. Calgary on Thursday postponed due to the Flames COVID outbreak. Head coach Sheldon Keefe put the club through their paces in Vancouver in preparation for back-to-back games vs. the Canucks on Saturday and Seattle on Sunday.
Keefe indicated that forward Brett Seney suffered a laceration and small fracture of his pinky finger on Tuesday in Edmonton.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman finally made a ruling on the suspension to Jason Spezza and the Leafs forward’s punishment has been reduced from six to four games, making him available for Saturday’s game against Vancouver.
