Singing the Blues (NHL)

The Islanders look to bounce back after last night's no show in Dallas as they face the Blues in St. Louis tonight. It was an embarrassing performance as the Isles could only muster 14 shots against Ben Bishop.

These no-show losses are piling up under head coach Doug Weight. This is the second 5-0 loss in 16 games this season. The 6-4 loss in Minnesota was a no-show as well but the final score did not indicate it. There were a few of these games under Weight last year as well.

"Some heart would be nice to see," Weight told the MSG Network after the game, "some work ethic, maybe following a game plan and maybe some consistency as far as getting pucks in."

One, if not the only player who showed heart last night was forward Anthony Beauvillier, who blocked two shots with the same foot late in the game. Was it ill-advised? I don't think so. Beauvillier, who has struggled this season, was helped to the dressing room and his status for tonight's game is questionable.

Josh Ho-Sang was recalled on a emergency recall. Not sure why it's an emergency recall since there already was an open roster spot. Only the Islanders.

Thomas Greiss will start. Jaroslav Halak has his second straight shaky start, his first coming in Washington.

Weight will announce the lineup at 6pm.
