A lot of controversy this morning amidst reports that NHL teams will be keeping their protected players lists private going into the Vegas expansion draft...
In past expansions we have known what players were "off the board" and who were available...The argument for keeping these lists private is that teams don't want players to be upset or know they were left unprotected should they not get chosen and be sticking around...However, it is widely believed the these lists will leak out anyway, and shouldn't players be allowed to prepare a bit mentally for the possibility of them moving to a new home?
This list not being public also could further benefit Vegas when it comes to being able to manipulate the system and play teams against each other regarding trades...
What do you think??
