Unfortunate news out of Montreal today as cornerstone defenseman Shea Weber has been shut down and sent home for an undetermined amount of time due to a foot injury.
Claude Julien confirms Shea Weber is being shut down for the moment.

Canadiens social media put out the news today that's sure to help make a disappointing season feel that much worse for us Habs fans.
Claude Julien is quoted on the Canadiens official website as saying "Shea has a nagging foot injury. It had improved to the point that he was ready to return, but then it got worse and we had to send him back to Montreal. We'll keep him off the ice until we figure out what's going on. It's a long season, and it's the type of injury that he couldn't continue playing with. We'll manage it properly over the next couple of days and weeks."
To see the "weeks" part at the end of the quote is certainly disappointing. I think that should the Habs lose more than they win to end the calendar year we will begin to see the sell off.
