According to The Athletic’s Kevin Kurz, the basis of the termination is in regards to Kane travelling to Vancouver after testing positive for COVID-19.
The Sharks’ Evander Kane contract termination stems primarily from him traveling to Vancouver while COVID positive, according to multiple sources.
