The San Jose Sharks announced today that they’ve re-signed goaltender Josef Korenar to a one-year contract. The deal will carry a $750,000 cap hit, according to Curtis Pashelka of The Mercury News.

Based on the small sample size, it’s hard to tell what Korenar’s ceiling is. He could get a good opportunity with the Sharks next year based on Martin Jones’ struggles though, especially if San Jose doesn’t make any offseason additions in net. There's also a good chance that he'll be the goaltender the Sharks choose to protect in the upcoming Expansion Draft.
