Big card today, 2 afternoon games as well! Scenario #1 is hitting at a high rate and has 3 teams that fit the system today. The systems call for 7 plays but I am playing the three home teams plus the one road team that has superior talent.
Three angles that I have been tracking that might be something to look at both short and long term are as follows.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 24-11! NYR fits the system tonight! Chicago, Dallas, Vancouver fit the system tonight. This system is hitting at 69%!
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 10-9 when teams play on the road back to back nights. Boston fits the system tonight but against a different opponent from Friday night. STL also fits the system tonight.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 30-23 in that situation. TB, Detroit, Ottawa plus the 3 home teams in scenario #1 fit the system tonight.
Quick stat updates - First period totals going over were 0-2 last night and are 96-104 on the season. Road teams were 2-0 last night and are 89-111 on the season. Home side the way to go even with the higher juice on the ML! Game totals going over the total were 0-2 last night and are 107-91-2 on the season.
Gamenotes for today –
Sens/Jets – Watch who starts in goal for Ottawa after Murray left last game after the 2nd period. Sens have played much tighter defensively the last 5 games, 6.5 total might be too high again.
Vegas/SJ – First home game of the season for the Sharks!
Bruins/NYI – Islanders sitting at home rested while Bruins played NYR last night. Isles won only meeting this year 1-0. Bruins have won 5 in a row.
Habs/Leafs – Toronto has won the first 2 meetings between these teams.
Canes/Stars – Carolina has won all 3 meetings vs. Dallas this season.
Arizona/STL – Coyotes are 3-2 vs. the Blues this season.
CLB/Chicago – Jackets have won 2 of 3 this season in Chicago.
Flames/Canucks – Vancouver has lost 6 in a row, can they snap out of the losing streak?
