Apologies to those trying to visit my Friday blog last night. I had added EDM as a play earlier on, then when I tried to add Vegas as a late play the blog got deleted somehow when I tried to update it. This has been the worst stretch of capping this year for me when it comes to the NHL. I wasn't able to post the blog earlier but here is the analysis for the 9 game card tonight.
FL/NJ - 12:30pm EST - Each team has won at home this year head to head. Devils have a 4 game homestand then a 5 game road trip. NJ gets up for a lot of the better teams at home, defeating VAN/STL/COL/NYR/CAR EDM/WSH/TB and FL. Lean to NJ as a small dog +175.
PITT/COL 3pm EST - Home and home series with these 2 teams starting tonight after the Pens big 4-3 OT win in Minny. The Avs have gone under the total in 8 of their last 10 games, something you wouldn't think for a team that scores in bunches. Lean to COL -141.
LA/WIN - The Jets won the first two games head to head with LA this season. The Jets are 7-3 in their last 10 games while LA is 5-5. Head to head, they have gone under the total in 8 of their last 10 games. LA is playing their 3rd game in 4 nights on the road. Lean to WIN -130.
CLB/BOS - The Jackets have lost 5 in a row and 7 of their last 10 games have gone over the total. Boston is 8-2 in their last 10 games, while CLB is 4-6 during the same stretch. The Bruins won the only meeting this year 5-4 SO in CLB a month ago. Pass for me at -357 and I don't like the total at 6.5
MTL/TB - The Habs have lost 5 of their last 6 games while TB has won 4 in a row. MTL 3rd game in 5 nights on the road. TB has won both meetings head to head this year, lean to TB PL.
TOR/PHI - The Flyers have lost 3 in a row while Toronto has won 3 in a row. TOR won at PHI earlier this year 3-0. The Leafs have division rivals TB and FL on deck, so careful of a look ahead spot here for TOR. Lean to PHI +239. PHI has been off since Tuesday, so the are a rested bunchQ
MIN/CAR - Minny is off a 9 game homestand and they just lost a huge emotional game at home to Pitt in OT. The Wild are a totally different team on the road while CAR is one of the better home teams in the league. Huge lean to CAR -160. MIN beat CAR at home 3-2 earlier in the season and are starting a tough 4 game road trip.
STL/CAL - The Flames have lost 2 in a row for the first time in months. The Blues have gone over the total in 8 of their last 10 games and this will be their 3rd game in 5 nights on the road. Each team has won at home head to head this season. Lean to CAL -230 in this spot as they head to out for a 4 game roadie after this game.
DAL/SJ - The Sharks are 4-6 in their last 10 but play better at home, while Dallas needs this to stay in the playoff chase and are 6-4 in their last 10. This will be the Stars 3rd in 5 nights on the road having won the first 2 at ANA. Lean to DAL -145.
