Last night we had two of three games go under the total while the road teams were 2-1 as well. Seattle +180 paid nicely as a road dog with the Avs starting their backup goalie while the Avs got caught looking ahead to the VGK tonight. Today we have 4 afternoon games and 13 games overall on this big card.
Overall, home teams are 48-31 to start the season with games going under the total at a slight edge of 36-35-2.
SJ/NJ - Sharks are playing their 5th game in 8 nights, very tough spot for them against NJ.
MIN/BOS - First road game for the Wild while the Bruins look dynamite to start the season and have been gold at home in afternoon games over the years with this current group.
STL/EDM - Oilers are playing their 5th straight home game and have another one in two nights against Pittsburgh.
AZ/OTT - Not worth laying the juice with the Sens -255 as they have been awful over the years in afternoon contests.
TOR/WPG - The Leafs are an average road team and huge edge to the Jets in goal, this is a live home dog.
DAL/MTL - The Habs are 3-0 at home to start the year but who will the Stars in goal will determine if I make a play on the Stars or not.
LA/WSH - Caps are injured riddled but a much better home team, while LA will be playing their 4th game in 6 nights on the road.
NYI/TB - NYI sat rested last night while TB played an OT game at FL.
PITT/CLB - Three dominating home wins by the Pens so far, but a terrible OT loss in MTL. CLB plays much better at home.
PHI/NSH - Preds won their first 2 games against SJ but have lost their last 4 games. PHI has played balanced/consistent hockey to start the year.
BUF/VAN - Canucks home opener after 5 straight road games. BUF has grabbed two nice road wins on this western trip already, don't see them making three against a very desperate Canucks team.
COL/VGK - Knights will have this game circled and have looked very good under new HC Cassidy. Avs look like they have the Stanley Cup hangover to start the year.
CAR/CGY - Flames have beat VGK/EDM and COL so far this season, plus they are very tough at home.
