Saturday Night Pix - 5 UNIT PLAY!(6 plays in total)Check goalie info inside (free NHL picks)

Last night 2-0 +3.10 Units YTD 76-56-2 +19.81 Units

Saturday gives us 12 games today with a few late afternoon games! It has been a big winning week for us here and I appreciate all the kind messages that I get in my IM inbox at Hockeybuzz. I have my first 5 Unit Play of the season below.

5 UNIT PLAY - NYI have been off since Tuesday after starting the season with 13 games on the road while their new arena finished being constructed for opening night! Their record isn't indicative of how good this team is, but when you spend that much time on the road to start a season, it's hard on an athlete's body. The Flames are playing their 6th game in 10 nights on the road too! NYI -115 BIG!!!!!

**Starting Goalies - For 7pm starts and later, in order of my gamenotes - Talbot/Bobvrosky, Jarry/Campbell, Saros/Montembeault, Ulmark/Jones, Binnington/Oettinger, Markstrom/Varlamov, Nedeljovic/Wedgewood, Merzlikins/Brossoit, Lankinen/Skinner, Samsonov/Hill.******

The Devils at TB is a 4 pm EST start and NJ has lost three in a row, while the Lightning has won three in a row. TB -210 isn't worth it, NJ at +175 isn't a bad road dog plus TB has Minny in town tomorrow, possible look ahead.

Canes 3rd game in 5 nights on the road and it's a 4 pm EST start. Carolina is one of the best teams in the league overall and the best defensive team. LA has now lost 2 in a row after winning 7 straights. Kings haven't played since Wednesday. Keep in mind 21 of the 30 games combined between these two have gone under the total this year. I'm leaning LA here, it's a 1 pm body clock start for Carolina, and watch for who starts in goal!

The Wild have won 6 of their last 8 but they travel to Florida who are a perfect 9-0 at home. Minny is 6-3 on the road though and but Florida is off until Wednesday after this game. Lean to the Panthers -145.

The Leafs have won 5 in a row and 9 of their last 10! Pitt is finally getting healthy though after a very average start. Slight lean to the Leafs -169, but Pens at +135 these lines seem odd to me. Back later to see who the starting goalies are.

Preds have been off since Tuesday and are a very solid road team that plays a heavy style of hockey. Montreal is struggling and the injuries aren't helping either, they don't play again until Wednesday after tonight's game. Lean to the Preds -112.

Bruins are terrible on the road and haven't got the goaltending this team is used to having this year. Philly continues the pattern of winning a game, losing a game so I guess they are ready for a win lol! Flyers are a tough out at home and match up well with this Bruins team, but Boston hasn't played since Sunday so they are a rested bunch. Lean to Flyers +115!

St. Louis at Dallas brings us two struggling teams that nobody can get a read on. Stars a small fav at -125, but a pass for me.

Wings are playing their 4th game in 6 nights on the road and haven't been in any of those games! AZ plays much at better home, regardless of how bad they are. Dare I say lean to the Yotes +125.

Jackets have been a nice surprise this year, while Vegas is 4-1 on this homestand. Watch for Lehner to get a rest though, the backup goalie will be in. Both teams have combined to go over the total in 19 of 30 this season. Lean to the Jackets +130.

Hawks have won 4 in a row but now got 3 games in 4 nights on the road as they start in Edmonton. Oilers will be off until Tuesday after this one but are off 2 tough games against the Jets. Slight lean to the Hawks +169 as Oilers -203 isn't worth it, a tough spot for Edmonton as they hit the road again for 3 more games.

Caps played Tuesday/Wednesday in Cali, then got some rest before this one. SJ is off a 5 game roadie that just ended on Thursday. Give me the Caps -120!

The following numbers from last night were requested by all the Draft Kings reader's here, so I hope all of you that read the column daily can use them to your advantage - Total goals last night - 15 (Home - 6 /Road - 9) Total PP goals last night - 6 Total SH goals last night - 1 Favs were 1-1 last night, 41-6 the last 7 nights. **Another prop to try is empty-net goals, you would be surprised how many are scored each night as coaches tend to pull the goalie earlier than if down 1 or 2 goals.

Home teams are now 147-111. Over/Under the total is 119-130-7 on the year. Teams in back-to-back consecutive road games are now 25-18-1 over/under the total. Teams rested the night before when their opponent plays the prior night are 30-17. Home teams in their home openers are 20-11 on the season. (NYI only team left to play their home opener) East vs West games, East 51-49 over the Western Conference. Teams playing 3 in 4 nights on the road, bet against in 3rd game - 16-5 Teams playing 4 in 6 nights on the road, bet against in 4th game - 13-3 Teams off 5 game roadie or more, bet against them. 6-4 Teams playing 5 in 8 nights on the road, bet against them in 5th game - 5-2 (Seattle/SJ/AZ/EDM)(Calgary won in this spot vs Philly and Buffalo) Teams playing in their 6th straight road game, bet against them. 1-1

Playing Today -

Devils - ML(+175)(1 Unit) NYI - ML(-115)(5 Units) Caps - ML(-120)2 Units) Flyers - ML(+115)(1 Unit) Preds - ML(-112)(2 Units) Added - Jackets - ML(+130)(2 Units)Back goalie for Vegas and they are sooo banged up!
