Just when we thought Dougie Hamilton would be back to provide a huge boost to Carolina’s defense, think again.
After he missed practice, it’s now being reported by The Athletic’s Sara Civian that he could be out for a matter of weeks with an injury, as seen below:
I’m hearing Dougie Hamilton’s injury is NOT a re-aggravation of his broken leg and timetable for return is in the realm of weeks not months. So not great news but could be way worse.

This would mean Hamilton is likely to miss at least part of the qualifying round. Obviously, this is pretty disappointing, based on the fact that Brett Pesce is still out and we were assuming Hamilton would be part of the playoff lineup. That said, the Hurricanes still have the pieces on the back end to make this work, even though it’s still a huge blow for the team.
