Ward spent 13 seasons with Carolina and was part of the organization from the time he was drafted in 2002 until the end of the 2017-18 season. He retires as the winningest goalie in Hurricanes history and ranks 23rd in wins all-time amongst NHL goalies. Ward won a Stanley Cup in his first season with the Hurricanes as part of a playoff run that also saw him take home the Conn Smythe Trophy.
