Barry Trotz, at home in Nashville, , may indeed be waiting out this season with a plan. A Nashville source talked to me yesterday about the possibility that David Poile, longtime legendary Nashville GM, may be moving up to the a higher position after this season, and Trotz, who worked under Poile in Nashville for many years, may be in line to get the GM job next season…. Trotz has said that he would like to have more say in player personnel…
*The Devils have now won 10 in a row and are almost certainly enroute to a playoff spot. They have been incredible on aspects of the ice and even continue to win despite injuries in net. They do have cap space and it would be interesting to see if they would look to Kane or Toews at the deadline…
*We are currently witnessing way more streaks, good and bad, then per usual… Boston has won 4 straight San Jose and St Louis each have 3 straight wins
On the other side of things….. Buffalo has dropped 6 in a row…
At the “bottom… of each of the Western Divisions: Calgary, San Jose, Anaheim, Vancouver, St Louis, Arizona, and Nashville have ALL picked it up as of late….in fact, EVERY team in the West is within 5 points of a Wildcard Spot…. In the East, all but Ottawa and Columbus are within 5 points…The Sens and Jackets are 8 out.
