Raanta Injury Threatens Revival (Raanta)

On Wednesday, the Coyotes lost to the Sharks, ending their three game winning streak.

The Coyotes three game streak - after winning twice in their first twenty - was the result of excellent goaltending from Annti Raanta.

During the Coyotes first twenty games they played about half without Raanta and most without two top-four defenseman. Raanta's hot play and the return of Hjalmarsson showed a glimpse of what this team can (and will) become.

Unfortunately, early in the first with the game still tied at zero, Raanta was injured and forced to leave the game. The team calls it an upper-body injury, but that is ridiculous, anyone watching can clearly see this is an injury to the left nipple. Or it's a concussion. The fact is, the NHL should be telling their fans about injuries and not acting like every injury is a plot twist in the newest Jason Bourne novel (and there is a new one of those like every six months, for some reason).

So Raanta is possibly suffering from post-nipple laceration syndrome - or something of the like - and it's unclear if he'll play tonight. Based on the how hilariously awful the Coyotes have been without him, this is not good news.

- End of October, Five Game East Coast Road Trip - Two games at home, Another Three Game East Coast Trip (Wash, Pgh, St.L) - Return home for ONE GAME then go back to Winnipeg for a three-game Canadian Trip. - Three games at home, and then guess what? Back to Canada for another three games!

It's not like I follow every teams schedule really closely, but this just seems like punishment.

Anyways, why is Dylan Strome still in the AHL? Since I last updated you on his progress (three days ago) Strome has played one game and picked up four points. He is now second in AHL scoring, three points behind the leader, with six games in hand.

That's all I got - you been blogged!
