RAISING HELL: Can The Devils Rebound From Last Night’s Loss? (Devils)

What a stinker last night at the Rock. The New Jersey Devils got beaten by the Washington Capitals 6-3 as they look to rebound from that loss.

The Detroit Red Wings beat the Devils 5-2 at the Rock on October 15th as New Jersey will try to avenge that loss. The Red Wings are a young team and have a record of 3-0-2.

Here are things the Devils need to do tonight:

1. Win The Physical Battles In The Corners: The Washington Capitals outmatched the Devils in each corner of the rink by beating them to the puck and winning puck possession. New Jersey needs to do a better job getting at the puck and winning possession.

2. Play Smarter And Take Care Of The Puck: How many unforced errors did the Devils commit last night? Passes by Jesper Bratt and Damon Severson across the middle of the ice which led to costly turnovers are an absolute killer to the team morale. The Devils need to take care of the puck better and not make risky passes.

3. Ondrej Palat: Palat has done very well in his career against the Detroit Red Wings. But that is when he was all with with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Palat did not have a really good game against the Capitals and did not have his “A… game. He needs to respond in a big way and look for him to make an impact.

UPDATE: 10/25/2022 @6:40pm ET - Palat is out for tonight.
