Quick Hits: August 14, 2018

1) Last September, the Flyers Rookies played the New York Islanders Rookies at the Wells Fargo Center in a 4-3 comeback win in overtime for the Islanders' side.

This year, the scene shifts to the Northwell Health Ice Center's Al Arbour Rink in East Meadow, New York for a Sept. 12 rematch. Game time is 6 p.m. ET. Tickets are required and will cost a $20 charitable donation to the Islanders Children's Foundation. To order tickets, click here.

Likely Flyers prospect participants in this year's game include the likes of Morgan Frost, Isaac Ratcliffe, Philippe Myers, Carter Hart, German Rubtsov, Mikhail Vorobyev, David Kase (shoulder surgery rehab status permitting) and more. Collegiate prospects such as Joel Farabee and Jay O'Brien are not eligible to participate, as they will be at school and are not under under entry-level contract so as to protect their NCAA eligibility.

Broadcast arrangements are not set at this point. For preseason functions such as these, arrangements tend to be finalized much closer to the game date. Last year in Philly, the game was streamed on Flyers.NHL.com with Brian Smith on play-by-play and with myself doing color analysis.

3) Yesterday, the NHL and NBC released the national television broadcast schedule for the 2018-19. The Flyers will be on national TV some 17 times next season between NBCSN (13 games) and NBC (four games), including the Stadium Series game against the Pittsburgh Penguins from Lincoln Financial Field on Feb. 23. The Flyers also have three "Wednesday Night Rivalry" games on NBCSN. For the full schedule, click here.

4) August 14 Flyers Alumni birthday: Adam Hall (1980).

5) Today in Flyers History: On Aug. 14, 1990, the Flyers hired the late Bill Dineen and the recently retired Simon Nolet to their scouting department.
