Quick Hits: June 7, 2020
1) Phase 2 of the NHL's return-to-play plan will officially start tomorrow, and the Skate Zone in Voorhees will be available to Flyers players who wish to make use of the ice and gym facilities. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Flyers are expecting light attendance at first. It will mainly consist of players who have stayed in the area during Phase 1 of the leaguewide pause, including Samuel Morin (ACL repair surgery rehab). Most players remain in their primary place of residence, where rinks are now open (in many cases). As the NHL moves closer to formal training camps (Phase 3), the number of players working out at the team training facility is expected to increase steadily. Use of team facilities is voluntary until the yet-to-be-determined reporting date for camp.
2) The Flyers Alumni are still in search of the "Handshake Kid" who, bottle of champagne in hand, snuck into the handshake line at the end of the 1974 Stanley Cup Finals. There have been potential leads and a different fan who was on the ice during the Cup presentation introduced himself to the Alumni, but not the one who is seen on the famous video of the Flyers and Bruins in the ceremonial handshake line. There is a reward for a successful lead: an autographed Flyers jersey and personal phone call from Terry Crisp.

3) Today in Flyers History: June 7, 1995
Eric Lindros' goal at 4:19 of overtime gives the Flyers a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final. The win cut the Flyers' deficit in the series to two games to one.
The Flyers trailed 2-1 until the latter stages of the third period when Rod Brind'Amour knotted the score. Finally, at 4:19 of overtime, Lindros took a cross-ice pass from Mikael Renberg and wired a shot from just above the circle past Martin Brodeur.
The game was tied at 1-1 after the first period after Kevin Dineen quickly responded to a Claude Lemieux goal. Randy McKay restored a one-goal lead for the Devils at 2:53 of the second period, setting the stage for the Flyers’ dramatic late comeback victory in the third period and OT. Winning goalie Ron Hextall stopped 31 of 33 New Jersey shots while Martin Brodeur turned back 22 of 25 Flyers’ shots.
