2) World Junior Summer Showcase: Both USA Blue (7-0 vs. Sweden) and USA White (4-2 vs. Finland) lost their opening games on Saturday at the 2023 WJSS. Today, the schedule reverses with USA Blue taking on Finland at 4:00 p.m. EDT and USA White playing Sweden at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Cutter Gauthier and Devin Kaplan both play for USA White while Cole Knuble is on USA Blue.

4) Today in Flyers history: On July 31, 2001, the Flyers traded offensive defenseman Andy Delmore to the Nashville Predators for a 2002 third round pick (later flipped to the Coyotes in the deal that brought Michal Handzus and Robert Esche to Philadelphia and sent Brian Boucher and this pick to Phoenix).
