Quick Hits: July 5, 2023
1) Development Camp: Today is the final practice day at the Flyers 2023 Development Camp. Team Clarke is on the ice from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. EDT, switching rinks from 10:15 a.m. to 11. Team Lindros out from 11:30 a.m. t0 12:15 p.m. EDT, switching to the other rink from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. EDT. Tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m., the two sides will play a 5-on-5 scrimmage.
2) The KHL has declined to register the two-year contract CSKA filed for goaltender Ivan Fedotov. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly has reiterated that the one-year contract Fedotov signed last summer with the Flyers is still valid for NHL purposes. Shortly after signing the Flyers contract, Fedotovwas detained and conscripted for a year at a naval base in northern Russia. The Flyers later tolled Fedotov's contract, carrying it over to 2023-24. I'll have more about this in Friday's blog.
3) July 5 Flyers alum birthday: John LeClair celebrates his 54th birthday today.
