Just a little fun on this Sunday before we hit the rumors hard...
Interesting fact: This is the third year of this new 3v3 format and this is the third poll I have done like this....and in the first two seasons the team you all picked LEAST likely to win....has actually won.
So let's try again...
Picking this game isn't easy..for many reasons....In my opinion the 3 v3 tends to come down to the goalies who are best 3 v 3....which is a very different kind of goalkeeping...
I have been looking all over for the Individual Wins/Loss records for NHL Goalies in 3 v3 OT....just to see if there are any trends. The best I have been able to find so far is Team OT Wins and Losses...And two of the teams who tend to lose the most (which is probably more attributable to the keeper than wins) are Washington and NY Rangers... And since Lundqvist and Holtby have played the majority of games over the past few years, perhaps Metro has the advantage here...having won last year as well?
