I liked the pigeon jerseys. A lot of it had to do with my age and where I was in my life so the nostalgia is pumping strong here. This jersey is a lot better than the white ‘Pittsburgh’ jersey they recently released. I actively disliked that one. I think there was a version of the white ‘Pittsburgh’ jersey that could have worked. It wasn’t the one they went with. I thought the letters looked way too small on the front. They had the current logo on the shoulders when they should have used the pigeon. I also thought the yellow on the should patch didn’t match the jersey either. It was a letdown.
This new jersey is exactly what they set out to do. If I told you they were going to do a reverse jersey of the pigeon I think this is what everybody would envision. They did it and I think it will look good. Nice work.

The Penguins have taken points in every game so far this season. They will look to keep the streak alive when they host the Los Angeles Kings this evening. The Kings opened their season with two consecutive losses to the Vegas Golden Knights and the Seattle Kraken. Since then they’ve rattled off three consecutive victories over Minnesota, Detroit, and Nashville.
The Kings are one of the younger up and coming teams in the league. They bottomed out after winning two Stanley Cups and built through their youth. They are at the stage where they are starting to add some veteran help around the edges. There are still a few familiar faces like Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty, and Jonathan Quick, but gone is longtime captain Dustin Brown and current Penguin, Jeff Carter. The Kings added Phillip Danault last year via free agency and this past summer they traded for Kevin Fiala and his 33 goals and 85 points. This is a team you need to show up to beat. They made the playoffs last year without Fiala and came really close to bouncing the Edmonton Oilers in round one, coming one game short in their Game 7 loss.

The Penguins had an optional skate today so we won’t see any updates to the lines, mainly where Teddy Blueger is placed. He was an active participant at the skate for what that is worth.
Update: We will have to wait for another day to see Teddy Blueger's debut this season
