The Cats went into enemy territory and played a great game to earn the win and some points after beating the Minnesota Wild in a SO.
No doubt about it, the hero of the night was Bob, who turned away 27 of 28 shots. I believe the ASG break helped Bob heal both physically and mentally. Florida has given Knight an opportunity to be the guy, but he hasn’t grabbed it and run yet. Instead, it is Bob who has emerged as the clear #1 and that’s a good thing for this team because it appears he is settling into a nice groove.
Last night was an example of how important a confident Bob is to this team - especially with a shaky defense. Bob challenged shooters all night, coming out of his crease to cut down the angles and limit second and third opportunities. I didn’t think the Panthers could really compete or win a tight game like this, but if they get this kind of goaltending every night, they have a great chance at doing just that in these types of battles.

As the Panthers’ quest for vital points continues, they will have the tough task of the dreaded back-to-back game (made tougher after having to go to a SO the previous night) when they face off against the St. Louis Blues tonight.
STL has had a bit of a crazy season, experiencing many highs and lows in the win/loss column, capped off by trading one of their big names in Vladimir Tarasenko to the New York Rangers last week.
The Blues are 24-25-3 and with trade rumors swirling about Ryan O’Reilly, this is a great opportunity for Florida to jump on a struggling team and snag some more points. ____________________
