After two games played this season, New Jersey Devils find themselves in somewhat of a “must-win… situation with their fanbase as “Fire Lindy… chants rained down in their home opener loss against the Detroit Red Wings. Their opponent tonight, Anaheim Ducks, lost to the New York Rangers last night by the score of 6-4.
The Ducks should not be taken lightly. Yes, they are playing on consecutive nights while the Devils have had two days between games. But they did put four goals past Igor Shesterkin last night. The Devils have given up ten goals in the past two games
Mackenzie Blackwood will be starting in net and looking to redeem himself after a poor performance against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Lindy Ruff needs to put a consistent line combination out on the ice and let his players develop chemistry. The players need to play with intensity throughout the game. Build and sustain momentum.
My Prediction: I think the Devils have a lot at stake and need to respond with intensity. Devils fans are running out of patience.
