I am not usually a fan of promotions or lame publicity stunts, but this is a pretty hilaious gag. The best part was the girl who had no clue who he was. Definitely worth a look.
This reminds me, I decided to try the local non-corporate pizza joint by my house last night and it tasted like someone put ketchup on bread. It was garbage. Maybe I just eat too much pizza, but I feel it's getting hard to find a good place.
The Capitals play today and host the Flyers.
I have to say, the NHL schedule sucks. In their mania to make everything about rivalries they forgot about how boring it is to watch the same teams play each other over and over again.
This will only be the fourth times the two teams have met this year, but it seems like the 80th.
The NHL should realize that with an 82 game schedule everything between November and the Playoff Race is for hard-core fans only and that no amount of rivalry games can spice things up.
The Capitals haven't even played the Wild yet this year. That's two of the best teams in the NHL and would be way better than watching the Flyers, Rangers or Blue Jackest for the 44th time.
Add in that the Playoff formatting is bizarre and will see a "wild card" team with a record probably better than three of four division leaders will be on the road against the Leafs, Senators or Bruins. (I'll guarantee it's not the Canadiens).
Then in the second round, barring a crappy upset, the Penguins and Capitals will most likely play for the "real" Stanley Cup before moving on to the one that will deserve an asterisk.
And that doesn't even go into how dumb the three-point trade-deadline-killing points system is.
Nate Schmidt will lose his job. I wish the Leafs could have swooped in and picked him up after the Caps - somewhat unnecessarily - acquired Shattenkirk the other night.
With Orpik back, that's that. Personally, even though it would require someone to play their off-side, I'd rather Schmidt play than Orpik (or Azner). But that is never going to happen in the NHL where only Guy Boucher is allowed to simultaneously be a coach and think outside of the box.
As an aside, if you've ever confused paint drying with an Ottawa Senators' game, maybe that's why.
