Jeff Skinner played eight seasons for the Carolina Hurricanes before he was traded Thursday to the Buffalo Sabres.
On Sunday night, Skinner took to Instagram and Twitter to say goodbye to his former employer. He also said thank you to his former teammates and the fans of theHurricanes.
Thank you Carolina Hurricanes! I will cherish the many memories and friendships I have formed over the past 8 years. I am grateful to have met many great people throughout the organization from management, to team staff and all of my teammates. I have been very fortunate. Lastly, thank you to the Hurricanes fans for welcoming me into the Triangle and your incredible support.
On Friday afternoon, Skinner spoke with Buffalo media. He said that he waived his no move clause to accept the trade to Buffalo. Skinner threw an iota of shade at the Canes owners and management when he said "You want to play where you are wanted".
