The Columbus Blue Jackets have extended fourth line right winger Mathieu Olivier to a two year contract extension worth $2.2M total.
The cap hit is $1.1M annually for the 26 year old undrafted forward.
Olivier was acquired via trade last season from the Nashville Predators for a fourth round draft pick.
In his inaugural season as a Blue Jacket, he had 15 points and 81 penalty minutes in 66 games.
Player Profile - Guillaume Richard
Richard is next on my player profile list.
The 20 year old defense who was born on Feb. 10, 2003.
He was drafted 101st overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 4th round of the 2021 entry draft.
The Quebecois defender just wrapped up his sophomore season with Providence College of the NCAA, having 8 points in 31 games.
Richard decided to take the American approach to his development over the QMJHL, having USHL minutes with the Tri-City storm as well.
Expect him to be a depth AHL / top 4 ECHL defender.
