This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the Avalanche on Monday announced that fans won’t be able to attend games at the Ball Arena (the Pepsi Center has been renamed) when the NHL season begins Jan. 13.
This is due to COVID-19 restrictions, of course.
Hopefully, once enough people are able to get the vaccine, this will change at some point.

The 56-game schedule hasn’t been released yet.
The Avalanche will play in a realigned West Division with Anaheim, Arizona, Los Angeles, Minnesota, San Jose, St. Louis and Vegas.
Formal training camp will begin Jan. 3.
