Nine players from the Los Angeles Kings earned medals at this year’s World Hockey Championship, with three of those players winning Gold with Canada yesterday.

Olli Maatta and Kings draft pick Kim Nousiainen were on the losing end of the game, capturing Silver with Finland. Maatta played in all of Finland’s games and registered two assists, while Nousainen played in eight games, managing one goal and one assist.
Taking home Bronze with the United States were Trevor Moore, Cal Petersen, Matt Roy and Christian Wolanin. Moore scored five goals and nine points in 10 games, while Wolanin had six points in the same number of games and Roy had one point in eight games. Petersen was the team’s starting goalie, posting an outstanding .953 save percentage in seven games for which he was named the tournament’s best goaltender.
The only player from the Kings who participated in the tournament but did not earn a medal was Adrian Kempe, who had five points in seven games with Sweden.
