New Sens Contest!! Which Sens player should get their number retired next? (Wade Redden)

First off, for the latest Sens updates, please follow me on Twitter at Give me a Twitter follow, I will give you a follow too!

The Ottawa Senators had the weekend off in a bizarre schedule set up for their current trip. With games in Chicago tomorrow night and Minnesota on Tuesday night, the Sens will have only played once in the last 7 days when they face the winless Blackhawks. The Seo build off their 4-1 win and jump on a Hawks team that is flat out a mess. But don't worry Hawks fans, you play the Arizona Coyotes on November 12th, so maybe you can pick up your first win in 12 days.

I don't expect any lineup changes from Friday night as Filip Gustavsson looks to show everyone why he belongs full-time in the NHL. If he has another strong game in goal against Chicago, it will be interesting to see if management dresses Matt Murray come Tuesday night. Austen Watson is also ready to go but he will have to wait at least another night to see if he draws back into the lineup.

Meanwhile down in Belleville, the B-Sens lost back-to-back games to the Toronto Marlies on Friday and Saturday by identical scores of 5-2. Kevin Mandolese started both games in goal with Mads Sogaard still out with an injury. With the likes of Logan Shaw, Scott Sabourin, and Filip Gustavsson up with the big club and Lassi Thomson out with an injury, the B-Sens are sitting in the basement of their division with a 2-5 record.

On another note, watching the upstart Buffalo Sabres this season it certainly is nice to see former Sens goalie Craig Anderson have a terrific start. Which got me to thinking, which former Sens player do you feel is worthy of having their number retired? Personally, Anderson is hands down the best goalie this franchise has ever had and if there was anyone worthy, in my eyes it's Anderson. I have had other fans tell me in the past that Chris Neil should deserve consideration, although he was a lifetime Senator, I believe Neil should go in the ring of honour with Bryan Murray. Many fans might not recall that Murray is the only individual in franchise history to have that honour but it would be nice to see Ottawa add to the ring of honour. You could make the argument that a few other former Sens deserve that honour too with Wade Redden and Jason Spezza as a few that come to mind. Who do you feel is worthy of having their number retired? Or which player do you feel should be in the ring of honour? I am very curious to hear Sens fans thoughts.

Thanks for reading. Kevin
