After last night's awesome games that pitted the All-time Rangers vs Islanders and Canadiens vs Nordiques, it's time to move on to our next rivalry matchups...The Sabres vs Leafs and Canucks vs. Flames..
Whenever selecting a "best of" or "greatest" the parameters need to be really well defined....So, here are the parameters in this process...
1. The player has to have played at least 100 games in the uniform. regular season and playoffs 2. The evaluation is judged based ONLY on the time spent with the specific organization so no Gordie Howe on the Hurricanes/Whalers 3. Not a longevity test. Purely talent. Pretend these players at their best with the organization are all available to you. 4. Forward positions don't matter. You are not cutting a truly great talent because you already have 4 centers. You would make him into a wing.
On the Sabres....

Perreault, Martin, Robert...Mogilny, Lafontaine, Hawerchuk, Turgeon, Briere, Drury, Andreychuk, Gare, Eichel The Top 6 Sabres Defensemen of All-Time... Ramsey, Housley, Schoenfeld, Playfair, McKee, Dahlin The Top 2 Sabres Goalies of All-Time Hasek, Miller
On the Canucks... The Top 12 Canucks Forwards of All-Time... Bure, Mogilny, Linden, The Sedins, Naslund, Smyl, Elias Pettersson, Tanti, Gradin, Kesler, Sundstrom.
