NHL Planning on Buying Vaccine Doses... Is that OK With You? Fri's Buzz (Hockey Rumors)

John Shannon yesterday reported that the NHL plans to buy the Corona Virus Vaccine to immunize players as soon as possible...

On the one hand, there is nothing illegal about a private company purchasing from another company...Players will have to travel to get around and will be put into risky situations. The fact that players are of varying nationalities could mean some get vaccinated in 2021 and some don't. The NHL and sports are important to the economy and you could argue they help people by providing folks outlets to escape the world right now...

On the other hand...while the NHL has promised it has no intention to "Jump the line" there are some questions that the Covid Vaccine is vital to everyone in society and should be handed out in the order of the most at risk. Athletes are not high on that list as they tend to be younger and in very good health.

I do believe that the distribution of the vaccine has the potential to be extremely dicey on several levels and there is a strong possibility that other companies could buy doses for their employees...This has "bad idea" written all over it, as we could see the less fortunate, who are dying at a much higher rate, the last to get immunized...
