Breaking...
The NHL has announced it has officially gone on hiatus. The hope is that this a few weeks and the season can resume, but all options are on the table.... earlier....
According to NHL Network on XM, the Rangers have re-routed from travel to Arizona to traveling home. this appears to be a sign of things to come, but we can't assume so...
The NHL has made an announcement that there will be no morning skates, practices, or team meetings Thursday. There is a Governors meeting called for 1pm. The NHL will decide at that point how to proceed...
Options:
Cancel the rest of the season. This is the nuclear option and I don't think this happens.
Suspend season until further notice with no clear plan... Quite Possible. However I expect more than the NBA, the NHL will put forth some scenarios...if for no other reason than to give fans something to look forward to.. Even saying we will be taking two weeks off to see how this plays out...and then make another decision is better than the NBA announcement
Hiatus per 2-4 weeks.. Possible, but hard to really stick to at this point.
Continue Playing to Empty Buildings... March Madness will be played this way...
Start the playoffs now..Single Elimination... There could be some play in games to figure out who makes it, or you could do so with winning percentages. You could have this done in less than two weeks, playing to empty stadiums but then you would have a resolution and it would all be done prior to March Madness ending...the Offseason would start early...This should be considered...
What do you think should happen?
