Time for some preseason surprises...
Today is cut day in the NHL, and we will find out throughout the day if some of these players are sticking with their NHL teams or not...(most should be after what they have shown in the preseason at least...
First some news on cuts...
* It appears the Wings are sending Filip Zadina to the AHL
* The Flyers sent goalie phenom Carter Hart to the the Phantoms today. There is no question Hart will be the future in Orange and Black for the next decade, but the Flyers would like to see him play some pro games in the AHL on a full-time basis to adjust...Hart, who has put up ridiculous numbers in juniors, continued in the NHL preseason with a 1.88 GAA and a .922 Save percentage. The Flyers will start with Elliott and Stolarz in net, but I really am curious if we don't see Hart taking over by January...Unless Elliott or Stolarz has the team in a solid playoff position it will be impossible to keep Hart down for too long... The Flyers also sent Mark Friedman and Philippe Myers to the Phantoms...Myers will be a star in the NHL at some point on defense...
* The Flames have placed Brett Kulak, Anthony Peluso and more interestingly perhaps, Curtis Lazar, on waivers..
* The Leafs sent a bunch of players to the Marlies including Greening, Clune, and Jeremy Bracco...The put D man Jordan Subban on waivers....(Could another Subban end up in Montreal?)
* I will be adding to this list throughout the day....
