The NBA has come out in the last hour an announced they will be suspending play...
The NHL has just released the following statement... NEW YORK (March 11, 2020) – The National Hockey League is aware of the NBA’s decision tonight to indefinitely suspend its season due to a player testing positive for the coronavirus. The NHL is continuing to consult with medical experts and is evaluating the options. We expect to have a further update tomorrow.
I would be fairly shocked if the NHL didn't ALSO take a month hiatus here...I think they are wise to wait until tomorrow to make it official. Honestly, I don't see any ay the NHL can't follow suit. Containing this virus is simply too vital.
The hope, of course, is they continue to play ..even to empty stadiums. People need entertainment now more than ever. To have games to look forward to watching on TV is something ...something to distract..especially when it appears we all may be stuck inside for quite a while..
If the games are indeed suspended, we at hockeybuzz have been planning some stuff to at least help bring some hockey distraction to you..some fun to keep us all from going loopy...
