Did the Colorado Avalanche drop a subtle hint today regarding the future of its very own white road jerseys?

It may not seem like much, but there might be more to it than meets the eye.
Prior to last season, the Avs made a pretty drastic change to their home sweaters. No longer would Colorado be wearing black helmets, pants, and gloves, instead, they went blue. Very blue. It was the first major change to the uniform since the team relocated in 1995.
In addition to adding blue to the home uniforms, the Avs used a combination of its current jersey and the old Quebec Nordiques look for its Reverse Retro sweater and it was wildly popular. Let's be honest it was the best of the best.
Now it looks like an innocent tweet from the University of Vermont hockey team may have revealed more changes are coming. Take a peek....

Vermont's Men's hockey team tweeted out a picture of a couple of its players, including Avs 2021 draft pic Andrei Buyalsky. In the pictures, he's sporting an Avs road jersey ... with a twist. The name and number on the back have more blue and burgundy in them, replacing the black. It does in fact look very similar to the nameplate and number on the Nords' Reverse Retro.
Last season the extra blue took some getting used to but if this is indeed the new road sweater, it already looks great. Of course, there has been no official word from the team and this is all speculation, but it sure seems like something.
What do you think? Is this something, or a whole bunch of nothing? And if it is something, do you like it?
Thanks for reading, Steve
