We have a great card tonight with 8 games on the slate and some huge match ups!!! Lets see if Montreal can hang onto the final playoff spot in the North Division as Calgary gets them again at home for the 3rd straight game and then you have Vancouver chasing down both of those teams as they play Ottawa 2 more times but this time on the road. Then you have the Oilers and Jets facing off with a well rested Edmonton team taking on a Jets team that is in a mini slump losing 3 straight while Paul Maurice benched Mark Scheifele last game out, lets see how Winnipeg responds.
Florida at Nashville presents two of the top 4 teams in the Central Division and Colorado visits STL for the 3rd straight game as these two are more evenly matched if you look at the scores in the season series, outside of the 8-0 Avs win early in the season. Arizona has another must win as does Dallas, so we have so much on the line tonight!
**I have started to research teams that come off at least a 5 game road trip and how they fare in their first game back home.** Its 10-8 to date.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are rested, either sitting at home or on the road while their opponent plays the night before. 23-11 over the last month of tracking it! The under is 19-14-1 in these spots.
Scenario #2 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 79-52.
Scenario #3 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 38-29-2 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #4 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 95-69 in that situation.

Habs/Flames – 3rd game in 4 nights head to head and Flames won both so far! Flames have won 5 of 7 this season with 5 of 7 going under the total this season.
Sens/Canucks – Ottawa lost 2 more goalies again on Saturday night and are already without Joey Daccord too, so Hogberg starts tonight. Demko out for Vancouver too! Ottawa is plays much tougher at home, 5 of 7 have gone under the season with the Canucks winning 6 of 7 head to head.
Avs/Blues – These two are playing each other for the 3rd time in 5 days and STL won last time out, but the Avs have won 5 of 7 head to head this season.
Canes/Stars – Carolina has won 5 of 6 head to head this season but are off 4 huge games against TB and Florida while Dallas just had 4 straight against Detroit.
Panthers/Preds – Florida not as good on the road and Preds need this game badly for the final playoff spot! Florida has won 4 of 6 head to head this season.
Oilers/Jets – Oilers have been off for 5 days while the Jets have lost 3 straight. Oilers have won 5 of 7 head to head this season.
Ducks/Kings – These two have split the four meetings head to head this season.
Yotes/Sharks – Yotes have won 3 of 4 head to head this season with 3 of 4 going over the total.
