We had a rough night on Saturday, so I took yesterday off to watch some games and see where different teams are at in terms of NHL personnel. Trends, angles, and systems play into capping much more as the season goes on. It's still tough getting a handle on many teams, as many are finding their way while being streaky at times. For instance, the Blues win 3 in a row to start the season and have now lost 4 in a row, including a 7-4 home loss that we got burned on. The Avs allowed four 3rd period goals in a loss to NYI too. The Flyers losing in OT was a tough loss as well. Let's see if we can find a winner or two with only 3 games on the card tonight.
Overall, home teams are 85-64 to start the season with games going under the total on the season at 69-56-2. The last two nights games have gone over the total 10-7 while home teams had the same record 10-7.
DET/BUF - The Sabres have gone under the total in 7 of 10 games. They got back on track after returning from the west coast with a win over CHI. DET has been very inconsistent, hard to back them here against a BUF team that is playing great team hockey.
WSH/CAR - The Canes have only played 2 home games so far while catching the Caps playing their 4th in 7 nights on the road. Nice spot for CAR but too high juice at -184 on the ML.
LA/STL - This Blues team needs a win badly as they've lost 4 in a row now. Couple that with an embarrassing home loss to MTL. LA is another inconsistent team too but has gone over the total in 7 of 10 games to start the year.
