Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays to all (Senators)

I find Christmas and even the entire month of December to be full of spirit and happiness. It’s just a different feeling, although that’s of course just my personal experience growing up. I wanted to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas today, and even if you don’t celebrate it, I wish you a Happy Holidays!

Typically Thanksgiving is when we say things that we are thankful for, but around Christmas I also feel like I should say what I am thankful for. For starters, I am thankful that I was able to take over for Jared Crozier as the Senators writer at Hockeybuzz. It has given me a new opportunity, as I have had to write a lot more due to the fact that I am the only Ottawa writer on the site. It has also given me some new readership, and it can’t hurt to expand my network.

Without you, the readers, I would not be able to write for this site. Obviously, sometimes things can get heated in the comments section, but I like having heated discussion rather than no discussion at all. So even if you don’t always agree with what I have to say, I appreciate that you read my work. Furthermore, if you can be civil about our disagreements, it makes discussions about hockey more fun. It has been just over seven months since I joined Hockeybuzz, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far.

Enough about me though, as today is about giving to others. And I truly do wish that everyone enjoys their Christmas and their holidays, as it can be the best of times. Remember to make time for your loved ones, and make sure everybody around in your life feels loved and supported.

For the Senators specifically, it’s been a very tough 2018. The Erik Karlsson trade. The Monika Caryk drama. The Randy Lee arrest. The LeBreton deal being stalled. So many things that it’s hard to remember everything. Suffice it to say, we didn’t get what we wanted for Christmas in 2017, but hopefully the following year gives the fanbase more reasons to be excited about the future.

I am very thankful for you all, and I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas and the rest of their holidays! Eat as much food as you can and be sure to “treat yo self.…
