Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid underwent NHL concussion protocol on Sunday night. McDavid was injured in a game against the Minnesota Wild.
Once the concussion spotters saw the incident, McDavid was ordered to undergo the protocol after falling to the ice and smashing his chin after colliding with wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon.

McDavid missed a portion of the second period but returned for the start of the third period.
The Oilers lost 2-1 in OT.
Next stop: Buffalo, NY, where Jack Eichel and the Sabres will host McDavid and the Oilers on Tiesday night.
McDavid leads the NHL in scoring with 34 points in 26 games.
