The Columbus Blue Jackets have added to the list of tryout invitees with the forward Stefan Matteau. Matteau makes his second stint with the Blue Jackets, last being on the team during the 2020-2021 shortened season. In 27 career games with Columbus over two seasons, he had 3 goals and an assist.
Matteau was the 2012 first round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils, the team that lost to the LA Kings. Matteau had stints with Montreal (via trade for former cup winner Devante Smith-Pelley), Vegas, and Colorado (via free agency).
The past two seasons, he has been playing in the SHL and DEL.
He could be a Top 6 forward for the Monsters if he has a strong showing in training camp.
