The San Jose Sharks lost to the Arizona Coyotes again.
The Desert Dogs became the first team to beat the Sharks three times this season thanks to a 38 save gem from noted Sharks-killer, Mike Smith.
Smith was sensational throughout and stopped two of three shots in the shootout, to help his team to a 3-2 win at SAP Center on Saturday.
Arizona ended its seven-game road losing streak and improved to 3-0-1 against the Sharks. The loss was just the Sharks second in 10 tries. San Jose failed to score more than two goals in any of the four games.
It was not the Sharks best performance of the season. The passing was not crisp. The San Jose back-check was sluggish and it looked like they were skating in mud for most of the the third period. That's been the narrative all season when these two clubs face-off. Thankfully they won't be meeting in the playoffs any time soon.
Despite the loss, San Jose holds a three point lead in the Pacific Division.
But, enough about the game. Lets talk about that save Martin Jones made in overtime. Jones made a mystifying sliding glove save of a Tobias Rieder's shot while on his back with 36 seconds remaining in overtime. It was shades of Martin Brodeur.

- Michael Haley returned to the Sharks line-up after missing the last seven games with an injury.
- Patrick Marleau had two assists and now has 1,066 career points. That places him 63rd all time.
- Brendon Dillon scored his first goal of the season last night. It's not like he's truggling though. He's scored two goals in each of the last two seasons and his career high is 6 in 2013-14 while with the Dallas Stars.
- Logan Couture scored his 18th goal of the season in the second period. Couture has played in all 52 games for San Jose this season and has 36 points (18g 18a). Last season he was plagued by injury and only played in 52 games total and also had 36 points (15g 21a) in the span. Talk about consistency.
- The Sharks failed to pick up their 19th home win of the season and pass last seasons total of 18. San Jose hits the road for four games before returning home.
- The Sharks are 5-3 in overtime games this season.
- San Jose's next game is Tuesday vs. the Buffalo Sabres.
