On the heels of the signing of former Detroit second-round pick Robert Mastrosimone to a minor-league contract, the Toronto Marlies on Tuesday announced the signing of defenseman David Farrance to a one-year AHL contract.
The 24-year-old blueliner was a third-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2017 and played four years at Boston University and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award before signing a two-year deal with the Preds at the end of the 2020-21 season.
Nashville did not qualify him after one season in the AHL and Farrance split time between the Chicago Wolves and Colorado Eagles on an AHL deal last season. With the Eagles, he recorded two goals and 17 assists in 31 games.
