Summer is the worst time for hockey fans. With players and staff getting away to enjoy a few months of hockey-free time, fans are left starved for news throughout the long (and hot) dog days.
However, some good news came out of the Panthers’ den today when it was announced that Florida has extended Eetu Luostarinen for another three years.
Lu’s extension Carrie’s a $3M AAV and feels like a really good deal for what he brings to this group. At only 24, his versatility at both the wing and center position, complete with a 200-foot game, makes him even more valuable.
Before going down to injury prior to the Cup series (which he was sorely missed in), Luostarinen tallied 43 points (17G, 26A) in 82 games of the 2022-24 campaign; a career high for him.
With rumors somewhat swirling regarding Zito going for Tarasenko, we’ll have to wait and see what other moves are on board for the Cats this summer…
Go Panthers!
