The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to cap off their three-game homestand with a victory before heading out on the road for the rest of November, as they face Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins at Scotiabank Arena on Saturday.
The Leafs have won five straight and 10 in their last 11 games, which is a far cry from the low point of their season last month, losing to an injury and COVID riddled Penguins squad 7-1 in Pittsburgh on October 23.
"(We have to have) respect for Pittsburgh, how hard they play, how competitive they are, how they played regardless of who was in or out of the lineup. They just play a very hard and fast game, that if you don't match that, it will make you look real bad." Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said after the club's morning skate. "You don't want to live in the past, in terms of our own team. We've come a long way since then, and as it turns out, that's part of our journey to get here. We had to go through something like that. But we feel like we're in a better place now."
